Verified breeders
Know the rules
In April 2024 the City of Los Angeles paused new dog-breeding permits until city shelters drop below 75% capacity, and California pet stores may only sell rescue dogs. We only list breeders who show their permit or operate outside city limits, and who health-test their dogs.
How we verify breeders
- Permit or location: a City of LA breeding permit number, or a kennel outside city limits.
- Health testing appropriate for the breed (e.g. OFA hips/elbows, eyes, DNA panels) — results shared with buyers.
- Breed club membership or references we can check.
- No puppy listings for sale on DogAngeles: you contact the breeder directly. Reviews come only from members.
