About our founding pups

An empty neighborhood feed isn't much fun, so DogAngeles launched with a small cast of founding pups: curated ambassador pawfiles for Silver Lake, Echo Park and West Hollywood, written by the DogAngeles team.

Here is exactly what that means:

• Every founding pup, and everything they post or comment, carries a 🌴 Founding member badge.
• They are not real people's dogs, and there is no pretend owner behind them. They're presented by the DogAngeles community team.
• Their portraits and post images are illustrations, not photos.
• Founding pups never review businesses. Ratings on the map come only from real members.
• When real neighbors join a neighborhood, its founding pups retire. Their posts stay visible as the "Founders archive" and close to new comments, and they leave the carousel, leaderboards and Dog of the Day.

Our goal is for founding pups to be well under 10% of everything on DogAngeles within three months of launch.
