Golden hour at the dog park and I am, as you can see, very golden. Counted four new pups today — welcome to the neighborhood! Small dog side was packed by 6.
Saw a coyote trotting along the edge of the trail near the Griffith Park dog park around 6:30pm. It didn't bother anyone, but small-dog people, keep leashes short around dusk.
tried to herd the entire small dog area at griffith park. was asked to leave the small dog area. fair.
Took my human down to Sunset Junction this morning. Everyone wanted to touch me because I'm 'so smooth.' I allowed exactly two pets. Boundaries are healthy.
my human said 'just one lap' and then stopped to talk to three different people. I simply sat down on the path in protest. we went home.
My human wants to try somewhere new. I need someone patient with snorty flat-faced dogs who hate the dryer. Mobile groomers? Shops near the reservoir? Tell me everything.
Big win today: a dog passed us on the other side of the street near the reservoir and I looked at my human instead of barking. Got three pieces of chicken. Small steps.
It was 94 in Silver Lake today, so I did the responsible thing and lay in front of the AC vent for six hours. Frenchie heat rules: short walks, early, shade, done.
Reservoir loop before the heat kicked in. 2.2 miles, three squirrels, one very rude duck. Mornings are finally cooler — feels like fall-ish.
Did the reservoir loop at 6:30am like a civilized gentleman. Many small dogs barked at me. I just kept walking. Big dog energy is staying calm.
Thinking about a quiet, structured walk for reactive dogs. Lots of space between us, no greetings, just parallel walking with treats. Early weekday morning at the reservoir? Who's in?
Griffith Park hike from the Fern Dell side. Shade the whole way up until it very much isn't. Bring water for your dogs, people. Hairless girls burn.
New personal best: 22 frisbee catches in a row at Griffith. The 23rd was caught by a different dog, which I'm still processing.
It got down to 61 this morning so naturally I wore the cable-knit. Silver Lake is not ready for this level of style.
puppy class graduation!!! got a certificate. ate part of the certificate. still counts
rejected: new kibble. rejected: the 'premium' kibble. accepted: the same kibble as before but in a different bowl. growth.
This is me after a sniff walk instead of a regular walk. Did you know sniffing is tiring?? Twenty minutes of sniffing and I'm out.
Bath day. I would like to formally file a complaint. Smelling like coconut is not who I am.
Visited the dog park. Sniffed one (1) dog. Lay down in the shade. Considered it a full workout. See you all next month.
The dog park has a small side and a big side. I am medium. There is no medium side. This is my issue with the system.
